Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Groundwork Knowledge mobile application (“the app”), published by Fisk LLC. By using the app you agree to them.
Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for personal and educational use. You may not resell, redistribute, or reverse-engineer the app, or extract its content for republication.
Educational content and accuracy
The app is a general-knowledge reference and study aid. It is not a curriculum, not a school, and not a substitute for formal education or professional instruction.
We take accuracy seriously and check the content, but we do not warrant that every fact is free of error. Answers about people currently holding office change with elections, and the app records the date on which those were last checked. Everything else is anchored to a stated year. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we will correct it.
Age guidance
Content is organised by age from 3 to 18. Those age bands are editorial judgements about what is broadly suitable and interesting at each stage. They are guidance, not a standard, and parents and teachers should use their own judgement about what suits a particular child.
Sources and attribution
The written facts in the year-by-year material are the original work of Fisk LLC. The wider question bank is generated from factual data published by Wikidata under CC0 and from Wikipedia under CC BY-SA. Only facts are used; no prose is reproduced. Individual facts are not themselves subject to copyright.
No warranty
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fisk LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
App store terms
Your use of the app is also subject to the terms of the store you obtained it from. Where these terms conflict with Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, that agreement governs for apps obtained from the App Store.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
